Micah Parsons slid to No. 23 overall on PFN’s 2026 NFL Top-100 rankings, down from 16th entering 2025. The Green Bay Packers edge rusher still ranked sixth at his position, but the drop came after a season cut short by injury.
Why the slide? A brutal injury ended Parsons’ 2025 season early
Parsons played just 14 games in 2025, recording 12.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, and 27 QB hits. His season ended in Week 15 when he tore his ACL, missing the Packers’ final four games including the playoffs. He underwent reconstructive surgery and is targeting a mid-October return for 2026, ESPN reported.
PFN analyst Jacob Infante called Parsons “a freak athlete with elite physical attributes and a deep bag as a pass rusher.” Infante added: “He’s been one of the premier pass-rushing artists in the NFL since his debut in 2021.”
Where Parsons stands among the NFL’s top edge rushers
Six edge rushers ranked above Parsons on the 2026 Top-100 list. Myles Garrett led the group at No. 3 overall after posting 23 sacks and 33 tackles for loss in 2025. Maxx Crosby (No. 11) and Aidan Hutchinson (No. 12) also ranked ahead of Parsons, as did Texans teammates Danielle Hunter (No. 22) and Will Anderson Jr. (No. 17).
Hunter finished with 15 sacks and 15 tackles for loss in 17 games, while Anderson had 12 sacks and 20 tackles for loss. Crosby and Hutchinson both earned impact scores of 89.3 or higher, per PFN’s EDGE Impact Metric.
What comes next for Micah Parsons in 2026
Parsons isn’t expected to be ready for Green Bay’s Week 1 opener in 2026. He’s aiming to return by mid-October, giving him time to shake off rust after surgery. If he recovers his 2021–2024 form, he could climb back up the rankings next year.
Even with the slide, Parsons remains a Pro Bowl five times and an All-Pro first-teamer three times. He also placed third in 2025’s Defensive Player of the Year voting despite missing four games.
PFN’s rankings reflect a brutal stretch for Parsons, but his 2026 outlook hinges on his recovery. If he returns to full speed, he’ll have plenty of ground to make up on the 2026 Top-100.
